An overview of the Criminal Justice Reform in Illinois
This report is prepared for Illinoisans whose lives are impacted by the criminal justice system. It is meant to facilitate conversations for individuals navigating the complicated barriers associated with involvement in the criminal justice system. It focuses on three aspects  which policymakers and practitioners engaged in criminal justice reform have identified and advanced as effective ways of slowing the flow of people info the criminal justice system: law enforcement, pretrial administration and the reentry challenges facing formerly incarcerated individuals. The report highlights existing (and pending) legislation by the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus (ILBC) members to reform Illinois' criminal justice system.
