SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Senate voted today to pass a balanced budget that would end the budget impasse. State Senator Donne Trotter (D-Chicago) issued the following statement:
“Far too many people have been suffering for far too long because of this impasse. This balanced budget will help end the chaos that has been plaguing our state and bring the stability that we so desperately need. It is time for us to start putting Illinois back together.
“We must also continue working on reforms that will make Illinois more competitive. I remain committed to working with my colleagues across the aisle to pass reforms that will move our state in a positive direction.”
